Sugar Bulletin Update (SBU)

The sugar crisis has ended in my house (yes I got to the Costco and picked up one of those 1,000 lb bags of it) but for the benefit of sharing knowledge with others I must tell you that you can indeed use powdered sugar as a substitute for granular sugar, I did feel I had to use twice as much of the powdered sugar to achieve the same taste. Thank you to my friend Jon for the suggestion.  (yes I was exaggerating the size of the bag of sugar I bought) ohhh I now that leads me to wonder…do you think sugar ever goes bad?

This needs to be shared. I am out of sugar. In my coffee I like two sugars, and a splash of hazelnut cream but I’ve been out of sugar for two days now. The first morning I thought I’d be fine and just use the hazelnut creamer and that should sweeten it enough. It really wasn’t truly enough and I do like it sweeter than that. I forgot to pick up sugar at the store when I was out yesterday. I get up this am and do you know that sugar you keep in a special jar preferably decorative that has that special blend of sugar and cinnamon for on toast? It’s really nice to have a small jar of it to sprinkle on toast, or English muffins or..lots of things really, maybe mix some up in pancakes. Really a versatile sugar/cinnamon sort of mixture that is just handy to have around but not for in your coffee. I’ve had creamer with cinnamon in it before, so I thought how different can it be. It’s really different and it’s not good and just don’t do it..go to the store and get some sugar or go without. I had this small island of cinnamon floating on the top of my cup of coffee, kind of like when you don’t mix your hot chocolate up enough, I still went forward and sipped…it’s just not tasty and it’s almost flat out yucky. You have been informed I hope you don’t have to suffer the same as me, learn from me.
