Forest Afternoon
Yesterday, I went for a walk in the woods. The forest is truly a magically place for me. I partially attribute that to the truly fresh air inside a forest. I adventured to a wood that I had never been to before, I had a map and I packed up and headed out.
During my childhood we had acres and acres of thick forest to explore all around us, and I had many adventures. There is no place where I feel more at home than a place that has mountains, forest, and water. Before I moved to where I am now, I was living in Eastern Washington, which is very beautiful but it’s a different beautiful than the beauty I yearn for, and I do appreciate, take in and otherwise totally enjoy the beauty of other places but out of all the traveling I have done in all of the world, there is nothing for me more beautiful than the Pacific Northwest. I’m very happy to be again living in this area.
Going to a new forest can also kind of scary but I was assured there were no bears and I felt confident I could take on any other sort of attacker. There were a couple cars in the parking area, and I was not all together sure I was in the correct place but the sign was labeled correctly. I pulled into what looked like a parking lot on the edge of a meadow, which was exactly what I pulled into. hahahahaha It looked like it, and it was, go figure.
Then I thought to myself…
But..but where do I go to get in the forest? I’ll just get my gear and start walking and see what I see.
There were some other people coming out of the side of the meadow, well wait, I get ahead of myself. A large dog came charging out of the edge of the meadow and ran excitedly up to me. I am sure glad he was friendly. I figured I’ll just stroll on up in the direction they were coming out of. I felt like a new forest newbie, I took my time to check the information kiosk and try to not walk too hurriedly into the woods.
I just wanted to go in and breath the air and get on with it but I didn’t want to look too anxious, I had to be cool. I get key anxiety, whether or not I’ve locked my keys in the car. One time about ten years now I was out camping when my keys were accidently locked into my car and it was an ordeal, so now I like to double and triple check.
phew my keys were indeed in my bag.
I saw this one cool building, it was about to fall down. I would think a good word to describe it would be dilapidated. I wanted to go in about five feet and take a picture of this cool….thing that was all rusted and oddly in the edge of the room, but I was kind of scared. There may have been a bat, or invisible spider webs, and you know what huge invisible spider webs have on them…that’s right I don’t even have to tell you, we all know about THOSE kind of spiders.
On my walk I ran across a handful of people, with a handful of dogs, a few people running around and a whole lot of wonderful everything else.
These are the pictures, this is the video. Please watch this in HD and big screen if you can.
Thank you.
Here is in Top 5 Places to explore in Second Life
Koinup is a great place to find a list of destinations to explore.
I’m proud to say that Torley and I have made the top Ten list of places to explore for 2008 for our work on Here and currently are listed within the top 5 coolest places to explore of all time in Second Life.
We’ve just begun refreshing Here once again, this will be the 5th refresh since we opened the sim in July of 2008.
Some of the wonderful comments we’ve gotten about the sim is that it seems to have a soul and they enjoy seeing what will be next to discover there. I see a lot of people watching tutorials and picking up Torley texture packs.
You are also invited to come explore and see for yourself what all the excitement is about, although as I write this, the sim is upside down, torn apart, but there are still cool things to see. Take advantage of half the sim having nothing on it but some awesome terraforming.
The music stream is refreshed with Torley’s latest album of beautiful music.
Thank you for coming to visit again and again and adding your pictures to your favorite photo sharing place of choice and including SLURLS for others to easily find Here.
Thank you Koinup for keeping track of everything and sharing with us.

Hello Everyone!!!
This is the last day of 2008 and I am sitting here having my coffee. It’s pretty windy out and I wouldn’t be surprised if we lost power, but I am already surprised with all the storming this winter and we haven’t lost power yet.
OMG I am not here to tell you about the weather because I made a new video!!! OMG I know, I keep making you watch and you are busy, but I appreciate that you do watch. *claps hands*
Okay, so this one doesn’t have any Second Life in it either..boooooo, random friend shouts ” Ravi when you going do more SL, what is this TWO RL video in a row?????”
I know and I think I’ll be in SL today, I have an idea for an outfit to put together and some video scenes, also my car is in the shop so I might have to go pick it up. Nothing like driving down the road at night and poof out go the lights, don’t worry they did come back on but how scary is that? Not scary enough I guess, since I first happened maybe a month ago and I let it go that time, this time they blinked on and off for about half mile……So, we took the RoadKing to the car doctor to get checked out.
“Please stop talking about the weather and your car!!” Another friend calls out.
OKAY
This video has some thumping beats, some glitchy noises and just drives you to feel like moving around. I hope you can sit still or stand in from of your monitor when the dance mood doth strike and watch some cool visuals I put together.
“ZOMG how did you do this?” friend starts watching and stops.
I took some footage I’ve been sitting on for a week ish from the snow storm, and ran it through New Blue Plug ins adding during that pass, mostly some sweet transition effects to blend my scenes together and the cartooner plug in. I know you can’t tell it’s from the snow storm and it really doesn’t even matter, I just wanted some footage that was moving that I could smear up.
*note* I do plan at some point to make a cohesive video with all my great snow storm footage
*note note* I wish I had a crisp fancy sort of video camera, I am using our little handheld snapper, it’s a great little camera but, I feel the image is a bit grainy for what I want to do.
*note note note* if you have one of these cameras and want to sell it for a good price please let me know…OMG did you ever price one of the fancy camera’s for video, they start around $1500. I am considering renting one to try it out, see which one I like.
This has been an awesome year, I love being part of this community of creative people.
I love watching all your pictures and your videos.
I love dressing up in all the over the top awesome clothing, shoes, hair, jewels, glowing eyes, particles, blinging nipples, all of it, the Second Life artisan community is full of goodness and really progressive artists.
I love traipsing through all your builds, trying out all the poses, and animations, having conversations, exploring constantly, awesome, awesome, awesome.
Humbly I thank you for sharing all of the things that you do with me, I am sometimes very overwhelmed by it, emotionally and literally there are times I can’t keep up but..hehehehe I try and if I’m going to drown I don’t mind being dressed up in a four yip outfit, surround with particles by ColeMarie and Summer Seale, riding a reindeer by Baron Grayson, showing off my legs with my Tesla shoes, sitting in an orchard of trees by Keith Extraordinaire, Kriss Lehmann, and singing with the chorus of angels by Sue Stonebender, all set in a backdrop of music by Torley.
I can’t possibly name the bounty of awesome people I have met this year that have touched my life, and inspired my creativity. Thank you for coming into my life.
I wish the best for you in 2009, may it continue to be filled with creativity, passion and inspiration and I hope we can all share in it together.
Life is best shared.
