Look for some re-organizing on my blog!! A new camera <3 <3 has come into my life and with it there is much passion to do awesome things with it. I am still learning how to use it but these last two posts are some of the fruits of that effort.
Needless to say I am taking pictures of everything and anything. I plan on continuing this path of photography and I think I need to make some room on my blog to embrace this.
Don’t look for the changes tooooo soon though I am out having fun with the camera! I’ve also taken up a new passion of making images using photomanipulation techniques, I’ll try to post some of those soon.
Thank you all for coming along this journey with me, here is a fun video for you to enjoy.
Forest Afternoon

Yesterday, I went for a walk in the woods. The forest is truly a magically place for me. I partially attribute that to the truly fresh air inside a forest. I adventured to a wood that I had never been to before, I had a map and I packed up and headed out.
During my childhood we had acres and acres of thick forest to explore all around us, and I had many adventures. There is no place where I feel more at home than a place that has mountains, forest, and water. Before I moved to where I am now, I was living in Eastern Washington, which is very beautiful but it’s a different beautiful than the beauty I yearn for, and I do appreciate, take in and otherwise totally enjoy the beauty of other places but out of all the traveling I have done in all of the world, there is nothing for me more beautiful than the Pacific Northwest. I’m very happy to be again living in this area.
Going to a new forest can also kind of scary but I was assured there were no bears and I felt confident I could take on any other sort of attacker. There were a couple cars in the parking area, and I was not all together sure I was in the correct place but the sign was labeled correctly. I pulled into what looked like a parking lot on the edge of a meadow, which was exactly what I pulled into. hahahahaha It looked like it, and it was, go figure.
Then I thought to myself…
But..but where do I go to get in the forest? I’ll just get my gear and start walking and see what I see.
There were some other people coming out of the side of the meadow, well wait, I get ahead of myself. A large dog came charging out of the edge of the meadow and ran excitedly up to me. I am sure glad he was friendly. I figured I’ll just stroll on up in the direction they were coming out of. I felt like a new forest newbie, I took my time to check the information kiosk and try to not walk too hurriedly into the woods.
I just wanted to go in and breath the air and get on with it but I didn’t want to look too anxious, I had to be cool. I get key anxiety, whether or not I’ve locked my keys in the car. One time about ten years now I was out camping when my keys were accidently locked into my car and it was an ordeal, so now I like to double and triple check.
phew my keys were indeed in my bag.
I saw this one cool building, it was about to fall down. I would think a good word to describe it would be dilapidated. I wanted to go in about five feet and take a picture of this cool….thing that was all rusted and oddly in the edge of the room, but I was kind of scared. There may have been a bat, or invisible spider webs, and you know what huge invisible spider webs have on them…that’s right I don’t even have to tell you, we all know about THOSE kind of spiders.
On my walk I ran across a handful of people, with a handful of dogs, a few people running around and a whole lot of wonderful everything else.
These are the pictures, this is the video. Please watch this in HD and big screen if you can.
Thank you.
