Here comes October!

In Second Life, we get to dress up all year round but we take it to the next level for the month of October. Have you been thinking about what you’ll wear for this years festivities? I know I have, stay tuned for an up and coming list of great places to get costumes for having Halloween fun.

Here in Second Life is decked out for fall, I am starting to look at the Halloween decorations and thought I’d share a handful of spots to go take some pictures. Drop by and visit us at Here.

Remember to play with your windlight settings for optimal spookiness, eerie effects.  Crank up some of that haze density, turn down the gamma. Scary movies tend to use blue and red for forbearing color cues.

It’s not an extensive list of course but merely a couple spots to get your creative juices going and to help you get in the spirit.

I’d love some links to places you think would be great for moody, eerie pictures, even better I’d love some links to pictures you’ve done in the Halloween Spirit.

Summer Seale is an artisan in Second Life with a zest for the particle goodness. Summer makes beautiful clothing, and more that include the movement and color of particles from gorgeous shoes to full environment immersions.

A picture doesn’t do particle art justice so I have a short clip for you of the artistry by Summer. I hope you get a chance to experience it for yourself, in Second Life she has a shop in Austin.

Summer is featured in the beautiful calendar by 12Avatars.com and has her own blog where you can learn more about Summer and what she is up to. You can also find a collection of Summer’s work on Here, I am personally inviting you to please come and explore. The main collection on Here is located right behind the big Torley head, swoop in there and sit for a bit.

Thank you Summer for making our Second Life more beautiful and full of magic.

5 Hot Places in Second Life to find Plants

Within my love for Second Life is creating, and admiring, fantastic landscapes.

Break out of the cubicle, break out of the conference room the conference center, your fancy yet drab office that you are trying to show how professional and serious you are and if you can be anywhere, anyplace, I would personally choose to be surrounded in a beautiful landscape. I often seek out beautiful landscapes in Second Life and I am often building scenes from content I find that I am inspired by and taking photographs.  I don’t find many inspiring shots of office space interiors, not to say that there are not some really great office interiors in Second Life.

These are not listed in any particular order. I could probably name more than five but let’s kick it off with these. It took me longer than expected to write this because I just got lost in all the beauty at these places while making sure I had current SLURLS for each of these.

Make sure to give yourself some time at each.

What are some of your favorite places for plants in Second Life?
